Apps And Access

How app access is granted and why some services are visible but not usable.

Access is usually based on group membership.

Common Situations

  • You can open an app but cannot sign in: your account may not be allowed for that service.
  • You can sign in but still cannot do admin actions: you may have the basic user group but not the admin group.
  • One media app works and another does not: those apps may use different groups.
  • You can see the deployment docs link but cannot open it: that section is intended for the lldap_admin group.

What To Tell The Administrator

When requesting access, include:

  • your username,
  • the app hostname,
  • and whether you need normal access or admin access.
